Maleldo 2008
On Good Friday each year, thousands flock to San Fernando, Pampanga to witness reenactment of Christ’s crucifixion after a 2-hr Via Crucis is performed on the streets of San Pedro Cutud. I’ve been wanting to go there for the past few years but haven’t got the chance since I usually spend the Holy Week either in Tarlac or for the past 2 years, in Ilocos
So when our Ilocos trip was cancelled this year, I finally took the plunge and head for San Fernando instead of just spending the day at home.

Going there is quite easy, just ask anybody on the streets of San Fernando and they’ll willingly give you directions. Otherwise, just follow the vans and SUVs, and you will surely get there
Kapuso and Kapamilya network were there …
as well as the foreign and local media/photographers…
and of course, even some of the local cults
it definitely was an interesting experience … 3hrs of waiting under the sun (at 12nn!), watching flagellants, and all that blood !!! something i might watch again next year?
maybe next time i’ll apply for a media pass? hard to take pictures with all the tall foreigners in front of me
want to see more photos? the bloody ones? just check my photoalbum or my flickr set
