flying cebu pacific

if you badly need to go on a vacation far far away but not so far (as in hongkong or singapore?) but you are on a budget constraint, you should consider flying cebu pacific.

its my first time to fly cebu pacific, whether domestic or international, and to be honest, i was a bit hesitant on booking with this airline. for my past visits to hongkong or singapore, although cathay pacific and singapore airlines were always the first choice, i would always fly with PAL. i guess, there’s always this “comfortable feeling” flying with the country’s official carrier.

anyways, if you book early enough, you would be able to travel to hongkong at half the price as that of flying via pal or cathay pacific. however, at that price there’s always a catch … travel tax is not included (to be paid at the airport), its a basic bolt and metal plane … no tv, no radio and most of all … except for the free C2, no free meal. if you want food (noodles, spuds, etc), it costs 50 pesos (1 dollar) each. at dahil evening flight ang kinuha ko going to hongkong, at gutom na gutom na ko, pinatos ko ang 50pesos na cup noodles. :) pero dahil less than 2hrs flight lang naman, forgivable na yan. one more thing … may homemade entertainment sila. on my way to hk, may “bring me” contest. nung pauwi ako, trivia questions naman. medyo iba lang ang dating :) well, at least i won a free pillow sa trivia contest.

aside from the above, flying cebu pacific is quite ok. flight was on time. no ants (ehem …). plane is new and medyo tahimik (its an Airbus!). stewardess/stewards are very polite. flight is ok … takeoff and landing were smooth. and most of all … no cockroach in the packaging of ’sterile’ earphones (di ko na sasabihin kung saang airline nangyari sa kin to pero classic yan).

by the way … starting this october, cebu pacific will no longer have a counter in the In-Town CheckIn facilities of HK. no choice but to bring your luggage with you and check-in at the airport. di na pwedeng check-in sa umaga, shopping at lakwatsa all day, tapos flight sa gabi. i guess they are cutting expenses to keep the low fare cost.

maybe i’ll fly with them again :)

Thanks for sharing. I’m planning to go to Legazpi via this airline.

i do travel either via PAL or Cebu Pacific. PAL, as its acronym says “Plane Always Late”. i really dunno, but they have this habit of waiting for passenger even up to an hour. 5J naman is always on time.

at di rin naman nakakatakot ang 5J for domestic, since they are using Airbus. pero kahit noong McDonnel Douglas pa lang sila, ok naman flights nila.

Having inflight games is an innovation started by 5J sa domestic flights nila. they usually do this in all flights except early morning flights kasi tulog mga passengers.

hmmm…. I’m saving up for HK next year and planning to bring my dad as well. But since he’s picky and mabusisi, baka huwag na lang Cebu Pacific.

hi eric … naku, pinaghintay kami ng PAL dati ng 4hrs! my supposed to be late afternoon flight e biglang naging evening flight. buti na lang uso na cellphone noon at nasabihan ko ang susundo sa kin. kung hindi, baka namuti ang mata nya sa kakahintay :)

as for cebu pacific, maybe the next time i fly domestic, its with them again. the fare is much cheaper than PAL!

Aside from the plane looking a bit dated, I have nothing bad to say about my Cebu Pacific experience. I actually was supposed to be taking Cathay Pacific from HK to Cebu, but some unexpected obstacles arose and I had to take the HK to Manila to Cebu route on Cebu Pacific. I agree that the flight attendants were very friendly (which is not always the case on U.S. airlines). Also, the game sessions were silly, but provided a nice distraction from my anxieties (i.e. I was almost 10,000 miles from home for the first time ever).

Hello to you all! this airline is so alive, because may games di tulad ng PAL tulog ang lahat.its greater to use AIRBUS than Boeing, lahat ng flight attendants naka smile kasi pagsakay ko ng PAL nasnab ako ng pangit na flight attendant, Ang Pal always late 8;30 arrival nila sa gensan pero pagpunta ko ng airport naging 12;00 nakakahiya naman sa mga tao, kaya palagi ako sa CEBU PACIFIC kasi IT’S TIME EVERYONE FLIES!!!!!!!!!1

Hehe!! Back again,WOW!! nice landing namin sa CEB A320 so smooth walang move kahit kaunti lang..so i trusted CEB as my airline of choice sana di sila mabank-crupt upang maka save ang mga mamamayang pilipino sa paglipad. Flight attendants always smiles at di lang yan ha pinapunta pa ako ng cockpit 2 beses na.cockpit ng CEB RP-C3190 at RP-C3197

I was traveling from Manila to Davao on April 1, 2008. My airline ticket for Cebu Pacific was 10:15 A.M. on April 1, 2008. Unfortunately I was not able to catch the flight since I arrived at the airport at around 10:06 A.M. What I did is to rebook my ticket for the next flight. However, due to the new system they have implemented on that day they cannot rebook my ticket and advised instead to be a chance passenger.

I was very disapointed and surprised about the additional charges they asked from me, since I really have to travel on that day I paid an additional PH5,124.00.

I bought my ticket at the price of PH2,831 plus the the additional amount I was paid at the airport PH 5124.

My comment is, I paid a very high price for being a chance passenger, taking into consideration that the plane was not fully booked at all and I was boarding in a rear seat.

all fleets of Cebu Pacific are Airbus A319 (150 seaters) and A320 (179 seaters), all brand new and with very comfortable leather seats. always on time pa sila. minsan nga lang may aberya out of their control OK lang naman for safety purposes they have to cancel my flight due to weather condition last December. We were all accommodated the next day. understandable naman they cannot compensate us kasi it is really a force majeure. This year lang they cancelled our flight due to aircraft technical problem. Fine lang din kesa naman to risk the safety of the passengers. They even provided us free ticket and 1 night hotel accommodation. Obviously the airline do not want it to happen kita nyo naman sa laki ng ginastos nila sa free tickets na pinamimigay at hotel accommodation namin. Some passengers opted to go home nalang and they were given 500 per person for transportation. Fair emough naman talaga. Come to think budget airline sila but the service is not cheap. They just really want their passengers to fly with them again even if their gesture costs that much. Eto pa, some passengers ay nagwawala pa sa airport gumagawa ng eksena, despite of the reasons like weather or aircraft problems. They do not seem to understand that the airline is not even happy kasi nga nagpapaluwal sila ng pera. Yung iba din kasi sorry for the word, gusto lang umistar. I would still fly Cebu Pacific again for all my future domestic and international travel. Cheap fares, good service and safe aircraft. Ay i forgot something tried lining up sa ticket offices nila super puno sa sobrang haba ng line nasa labas na ang mga tao. PAL and Air Phils at yung iba walang laman. Kahit mahaba ang line tiis nalang sa hirap ba namn ng buhay. We always have to bear in mind to always get the value for money di ba mga tsong? Cheap din naman ang AirPhils pero 25 to 30 yrs old na ang equipments nila nakakatakot naman at limited ang flights wala masyadong choices in terms of flight schedules. PAL is not an option to me ang mahal kasi. Lagi half the price cheaper si Cebu Pacific.
