cellphone addict …

Imagine this … of the 120 pages in today’s issue of the Inquirer, 14 pages of SMART ads and 4 for Globe. That’s already 15% of the paper.

1. Ask your friend kung ilang beses na syang nagpapalit ng cellphone since 1998 (when texting became an ‘in’ thing in Pinas). May 1998-Jan 1999, Nokia 5110. Feb 2005 - until I dont know when, Nokia 6600.

3. Halos lahat yata ng gameshow o contest sa TV, radio and newspaper e may kasamang instruction on how to join using your cellphone … ‘just type 9999 space blah-blah-blah …’

I tried to turn on this feature on my friendster but decided to turn it off afterwards, nakakadagdag pa sya sa narereceive kong text (at binabayaran ko? … 2.50 per text!)

5. Yahoo Messenger is also available using your cellphone.

6. Maraming chatrooms ang available sa TV na gumagamit ng SMS to join, send and make chika to people you do not even know. 2.50pesos ulit !!!

7. Want to request a song on the video channel? Just text ….

8. Want to make your idol’s new song no.1 on that video channel (applicable din to sa radio!) ??? Just vote via text …

9. Instead of the usual ‘ring ring’ every time your phone rings or somebody sends you a message, just text to receive the latest ringtone … or you can download it using wap or gprs

10. Want to hear or know the latest about your favorite star? Just text to activate. Eto, malaking kalokohan to … sa loob ng isang araw e ilang beses ka makakareceive ng text about this and everytime makakareceive ka nito e 2.50 agad to.

11. You want your caller to hear your favorite song while calling you? Just activate your ringback tone (ano ba equivalent nito sa Smart?) 30pesos a month lang …

12. Want to have freebies sa favorite fastfood or restaurant mo? Just join the ‘receive a ringtone weekly’ promos of the phone companies.

Marami pang kalokohan at gimiks na naiisip para sa cellphone at sa dagdag na paggastos using it.
